Videos come out blurry

richard-t wrote on 11/19/2016, 12:49 PM

Hi so i have a small youtube channel and i upload gameplay videos. I currently use Dxtory to record my videos. I noticed that after i rendered the video it'd get a little blurry especially when i'd move my character around a lot. Then it'd be super blurry and almost unable to watch when i uploaded the video to youtube as you can see here.

My screen resolution is 1600x900 but i record in windowed mode so vegas shows my dimensions as 1600x836x128 when i'm done editing i click render>main concept AVC/AAC>internet HD 720p then render it out. I was told to come here for answers so please will someone help :(. Here is the information about my dxtory settings.

Have a read of this first: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/why-does-my-rendered-video-look-bad-quality-troubleshooting-basics--103361/ A MediaInfo report (#6 in that post) would probably be more useful than what you posted above.

Some screen recording programs create video that doesn't decode well in Vegas. DXtory has been known to be one of those. OBS Studio does a good job. But that might not be the issue if the recorded video looks OK on your timeline.

Downscaling to 720p from 1600x836 shouldn't cause the video to go soft.

richard-t wrote on 11/19/2016, 3:55 PM

It looks fine in the timeline but I'll try all of this later when I get home and let you know. thanks for the response btw!

That means: ignore the youtube notification, cause it's a standard message

And the youtube video that you uploaded on 22. is not so bad as you described, i think

It's obvious what he meant but i guesss it's not obvious what i meant. It's dumb for someone to reply to one insignificant thing about the postlol but here look at that video and tell me it's not blurry,,, Why are all of these randoms commenting all of this unhelpful stuff on my post? You guys aren't helping you're just being annoying at this point.

It is not "dumb" to reply to just one part of your post. If you feel it is not significant then why did you write it? Please be respectful of other users who are trying to help you and take note of the community rules. Further insults will not be tolerated.

You have not "done everything" in the post I linked to above. Read it again. Especially part #6.

As to your problem, if the things in that post don't help, try these modifications to your render template:

  • Check "Use deblocking filter"
  • Check "Two-pass"
  • Increase the Maximum bit rate to 24,000,000
  • Increase the Average bit rate to 12,000,000

If you're still not happy try Vegas2Handbrake. Read this if you use VP14.

Youtube always recompress the uploaded video... also, they have to create some lower resolution versions... like 480p.
