What is your virtual memory max size set to ? Do you have a sh*t-load of plugins enabled ?

Are you getting a lot of hard drive thrashing? If you haven't run a chkdsk /r on ALL your partitions lately, that might be the ticket. Be warned that this could take hours if you have large drives/partitions. Give it a shot and report back your findings. It's good to do this on a regular schedule. Also, defragging is a good thing as well. Again, this could take a LONG time depending on the fragmentation level. Keep in mind that not all problems can be attributed to software programs. They all rely on the operating system. If there's problems there, they can affect a lot of other programs.
