Anyone know who did this spot? It was done in Vegas, pretty obvious from the FX used and how they were used, but curious if it was a community member.
It's an Orlando Visitors and Convention Bureau spot.
I did a spot check on Google but my Google search was 'spot-less' . I couldn't find any spots in Orlando that featured a spot like the one that Spot mentioned so I thought
it would be easier to put Spot on the spot and remind him that a link to the spot in Orlando that is featured in the spot that he (Spot) mentioned would be a great help!
Actually, it is a television spot that is constantly airing on CNN both local and national. Neither of the spots on those webpages were created by the same group, or else they've got wildly different in-house styles. I'll try to get a copy off my DVR. Anyone who has used Vegas much will immediately recognize the Xitions, and FX.
You might not get the production company to come forwarded here.
As I’ve learned the hard way, I keep a low key that I use Vegas.
The agencies I work with don’t know what I use – The one that did find out dropped me shortly after. It’s very political with FCP & Macs.
All of them seem to bring up Mac talk & I play along.
Offence is taken with many Mac people if they find I don’t sing in their church choir, so to speak.
Some of us have to be rouge production houses with our clients.
glad you cleared that up spot,, i watched th video on the website and could not figure out how you knew they were done in vegas,, matter of fact i watched them wayyyyyyy too much,,,
Logan 5 ,, I been doin this edit thing quite a while ... i have never had a client that gave 2 @#$%^ what i edited on.... Now if you have to share files with another post facility... ouch i feel your pain, and thats another story
winrock the problem has been with agencies not direct clients – the ones I work with typically have graphics departments that are Mac based.
I’ve ran into the FCP project issue a few times when they have some video capability.
But the problems I’ve face is their mentality & I have encountered this after leaving a Mac based edit system 2005.
You'd be surprised at how many ad agencies request FCP or Avid.
We've had ways of getting around that in the past, at the end of the day, if it's all in-house, do what you want. If it's going out-of-house, you'll prolly end up using what they request.
Oft times, they're clueless, and it's a branding thing where someone in-house is convinced that one is superior over another. But it is why we have AVID and FCP systems here along with Vegas.
“Often times, they're clueless, and it's a branding thing where someone in-house is convinced that one is superior over another.”
Spot that is very true.
“But it is why we have AVID and FCP systems here along with Vegas.”
That’s a great idea you have going there - three systems.
I do have a FCP option at the production company next door.
They have helped me out a few times - & I helped them in the Vegas world as well.
