Vista, VMS 8 and Content

I got Vegas Move Studio 8 Platinum today and installed it on my clean Windows Vista Machine. Sadly, many of the .avi extras in the "Content" folder of the install disc don't play. Apparently Vista doesn't come with all the needed codecs, and VMS didn't install them.

Does anyone know what codecs I might be missing for the supplied content, and where to get them?

Thanks.

This is where I go when I have such a problem:

After much debugging, I found out I was missing the Indeo codec.... which is only available on Vista for $14.95.

Shame on Sony for including videos with a pay-only codec. :(

This is only a guess as i can't speak with any authority, but it's quite possible that when SONY chose that list of files Indeo wasn't a for-pay codec, or was at least already included with the Windows installation. I've had it available free of charge on every Windows system i've used going back to Windows 3.something.

While its true it has been a free codec for a long time, that stopped with Vista.
And VMS 8 is the first Vegas that is Vista capable.

Since the codec used on these samples is of little importance, I hope they consider re-encoding with a free/pre-installed codec for the next releases.
