This caused by a Nahimic Module, like one used by Sonic Solution applications (I had it from Asus ROG system).

It was discussed in detail here:

@SantiFz  ... do you have Realtek audio in your computer? If yes, there is a known display problem between the Realtek driver and Vegas Pro 18. Follow this link to a post last month re the display issue:

I do not understand how Vegas Creative can sell a product with so many errors, if this problem is not solved urgently, it will affect the experience for new buyers. A shame ... I think I will make a refund and continue with the vegas pro 17

Too bad that the new version has these errors, I did not like spending so much money to have a bad first experience with vegas pro 18

Actually it's not just causing trouble within VP18, but in my case of ASUS ROG, I also troubled with drop sound or music when playing games. Also, there are any other reports of troubling UI as well caused by this Nahimic module.

It was difficult for me to remove the sonic solution application at first... as I afraid it will interrupting anything... but after I finally decide to remove it, then I feel free from such trouble.. and no more volume trouble of VP18 interface for at least 2 months now and right now I happily editing with VP18.

Whether it's a bug or incompatible issue... at least now it work on my system, and as I don't see the need of having my Sonic Solution application in my ASUS ROG... it's not a problem for me to remove it.

Ok, I only sharing my experience here... but it's yours to decide.

@SantiFz This is a know issue for the Sonic Sound application at ASUS Rog. This (more or less useless) sound application takes the GPU focus of every WPF application and creates artefacts. Those artefacts are not limited to VEGAS 18... this ASUS application is able to crash games and create strange glitches in different application. You could search the web for "NahimicOSD.dll problems" and you will find a long list of applications which will not run if this application is running.

I would suggest to uninstall this (strange) Sonic Sound application or to wait for the next VEGAS 18 update. In the internal preference you will be able to deactivate the GPU acceleration for WPF panels.
