VMS 11 won't load up - Please help!

I need to use it tomorrow and I don't know what the heck to do! When I first installed it, it loaded up automatically and seemed fine. Now, however, it freezes on the splash screen, or whatever it's called, at the point where it says "ASIO Drivers ASIO Digidesign Drivers..."
Is this an issue with my sound card maybe? I'm not that knowledgeable about computers, but I'm using XP Home, 32 bit. Sound card is a Realtek HD. I tried updating my sound card/graphics card, so they do have the latest drivers. I've also tried uninstalling, reinstalling, all the usual stuff. I'm honestly close to tears... I really need to use this program for a job tomorrow. Please, if anybody has any advice, I would be truly grateful.

Try one of....

link or if that doesn't work, remove the sound card from its slot & 7uninstall the driver. Reboot. Shut down. Install card and driver.

If it's a Realtek it's more than likely integrated into the motherboard, and cannot be removed.

Thanks for the kindly advice and useful links. I've tried some of that, but nothing seems to be fixing it yet. Will keep trying!
In the end, I installed the program onto my brother's computer to test it and to just do the job I needed to do and it worked absolutely fine on his. How frustrating!
