VMS 16 & 17 Steam versions not opening

I have the Steam versions of platinum 14, 16 and 17. When I try to open 16 or 17, I get a problem report. I send the report and MAGIX tells me they can't repair a Steam version. I try to use Steam support and they tell me they can't repair a third party software and link me here. I am frustrated to say the least. I have used ver 16 and 17 previous to a windows 11 update. I do not have the problem with Win 10 on another computer. However, the other computer is not set up for video production. Thank you in advance for your help.

Was your Win 11 update a fresh install or an update from an existing Windows? If it was a fresh install then possibly you have encountered the missing AC3 codec issue. There are threads on this problem caused by Microsoft dropping the codec from Win11.

If your VMS14 works then this reinforces my suspicion as VMS14 probably uses the Dolby AC3 codec and doesn't rely on the Windows codec like later versions do.
