VMS 16 / Splash screen freezes at "Creating Windows..."

When I upgraded to VMS 15, the splash screen would hang at "Creating Windows" for 20-30 seconds before the application would start. I upgraded to VMS 16 last week and now the splash screen hangs at the same place for 40+ seconds. I did not experience this problem with versions 14 or older.

Any ideas? I've updated my video driver and don't have any problems using the application after the splash screen disappears.

I have only added one: NEAT noise filter.

I removed the plugin and tried again - same problem.

Thanks for the tip. Any others?

I also find VMS16 slower to load but the extra 10 secs or so is hardly worth getting wound up about. Like LRay I have no problems once it's loaded.

I have a 5-6 second delay (Creating Windows) in MSP16, MSP15 and MVP13.

I could handle 10-15 seconds...but 40+ is quite a nuisance. Can someone explain what is happening during the "Creating Windows" phase anyway? If you've installed and run VMS 16 already, what other windows does it have to create...especially if you're starting a new project?

J-V, my system is well within the min. system requirements.
