VMS 6 + DVDA vs. VMS 8 + DVDA

How does VMS 8 + DVDA compare to VMS 6 + DVDA? Is it worth the upgrade? Any pros & cons? Does VMS 8 have more help, added features, added backgrounds, buttons, etc? I don't know that I'll upgrade as I have a very long ways to go to learn everything about VMS 6 but I'm curious nonetheless.

Also, I found I can go to the download section and download themes for DVDA. Is there anywhere that you know of we can download new buttons? I can also post this question in DVDA Forum. Thanks.

If you look at the release notes for the latest builds in VMS8 and DVDA4.5, you will major points of interest listed. Of course that is in addition to the features listed on the product information page.

What limitations are you running into with v6? My reason to upgrade was to move to the Platinum edition to have a workflow for HDV video from my Sony camcorder.

Actually, no limitations at all. If I'm lucky I'll feel like I've mastered this program by the time I can retire in 20 more years. It's a great program. I was checking the Sony Creative Software web site to see if there were software updates for Vegas 6 and saw the Vegas 8 so was just curious what changes there are. I will check out the release notes, thanks for the tip.

Auto snapping with coloured guidelines is a big bonus. High definition is another. I upgraged from VMS6 to VMS8platinum just 3 months after buying vms6. You get more effects and transitions, and with a weak dollar, $49 is a real bargain for me (I live in Europe, you see...)
