VMS Crashing During Rendering

Hello all. I am having a problem lately making movies with Vegas. I have a Sony DCR-SR82 camcorder and a Canon PowerShot SD800IS digital camera. Basically I am trying to compile the videos from both onto DVDs. The first time, I dragged what would have been more than 4.7GB of video onto the timeline and I thought VMS crashed because it was past the 4.7GB. The reason I thought this is because reducing the amount of the resulting MPEG2 to under 4.7GB allowed me to successfully render that video. However, subsequent video compilations are crashing during rendering as well. Each time, it is crashing during rendering of one of the MJPEG videos from the Canon. However, I am able to render that portion of the video by itself without an issue. Each time, it crashes approximately around the same frame. I've tried removing the offending clips from the timeline, but it then randomly picks another video to crash from. Any idea why this might be happening?

Make sure you have updated to the latest version of Vegas, free update for v8.0d. Then, if you are using pictures, make sure your pictures are resized to project properties size. And if that doesn't help, file a bug report with Sony, I don't think we can do anything more here about it.

Yes I did update to 8.0d and this project only contains video clips from the 2 devices, no pictures.

what about audio, any mp3 clips underneath your video?

Nope, no audio clips. Just the audio that is built into the video clips I'm adding. After much troubleshooting, I discovered that the MJPEG codec that is built into Vegas Movie Studio is apparently not working too well with the MJPEGs created with my Canon PowerShot SD800IS. After installing this codec: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Motion_JPEG_Codec.htm and then unchecking the "Ignore 3rd party codec" option in Vegas, I was able to successfully render my projects again.
