VMS(HD)10 Low Memory Error

So im running the trial version of Vegas movie studio HD 10.0 to see if its worth the upgrade since im having so many issues with 8.0 since i updated my computer to 64 bit. First project i tried to render would not render because its saying my system is low on memory. The video im trying to render is only about 6 min long and made up of HD clips from my iPhone 4.

Im running windows 7 Professional (64 bit) with 8 GB of ram and a AMD Phenom 2 Processor with 6 cores. 2 hard drives (1TB w/ 753 GB of free space and a 500B w/ 403GB of free space.

I tried lowering the dynamic RAM preview to 0 in the settings and even tried lowering the rendering threads to 1. Still get the error.

I have not found a solution anywhere which is leading me towards saving my money and using it towards a different video editor. Anyone have a solution?

I've bought VMS(HD)10 ,and got the same memory low problem with Windows 7 64 bit 8G DRAM.

I have a similar configuration. A powerful Win7 64-bit computer that seems to have fits trying to render even simple video footage on any consumer level video editor. I had been a life-long Corel user but finally bailed after X3 just wouldn't render anything without consistent crashes.

I like to think I am more than capable behind the keyboard but I am rarely interested in the "just reinstall your entire system" solution. I tried a few hacks with Corel X3 but nothing worked. I have an iPhone 4 and the program crashed whenever it tried to read the HD video files. So, I switched over to VMS10 after reading this forum and a few complimentary reviews. I don't see a point in spending $500 for software I used to just tidy up and blend together video/photo memories.

Like you, my Win7 box had fits in VMS10 with iPhone4 and other HD camera footage. Some times it crashed and some time it kept presenting the "low on memory" popup. I tried the following hack and seems to have fixed all my problems:

I have not seen a single crash or "popup" since modifying the VMS10 executable and a few DLLs as mentioned. I would like to tell you that there is a different video editor out there that lets you perform basic video editing tasks and can output reliably to MP4, DVD and Blu-Ray format file for under $100. However, in all the trial editions and software I played with I couldn't find it. Adobe and Sony are fairly close in my opinion but I found it simpler to render video taken from my iPhone4 and maintain the portrait orientation in Sony.
