VMS rendered mpg file not recognized in DVDA4.5`

Anyone see this before? A VMSPP9 project is rendered to default mpg template (just used "Make Movie>DVD>save to file" option with corresponding ac3 audio. When I try to load the mpg into DVDA4.5d, I get file is a "not required file type" error. This happened to 3 of 4 mpg files in my DVDA project. Any thoughts? mpg files play fine in every player and in VMS. In DVDA, when I browse to open the file, it doesn't list the time, but it does state that Main Concept mpg codec was used.

Use a DVDA Template (not default) and render separate mpeg-2 video and ac-3 audio files. This is covered in the documentation.

Will do, but is this a known bug or just a good suggstion?

Are you saying you didn't use the DVD-Architect templates for the clips that don't work? If so, then this isn't a bug. The DVD-Architect templates are there to make sure you create a file that is compatible with DVD-Architect. I suppose you could consider that a good suggestion, but really it's just following the directions properly.

No, I used the simplistic Make Movie in VMSPP9 (under file menu). It uses the default templates (it just renders the mpg2 and ac3 files sequentially), but with fewer mouse clicks.

I got around it in 2 ways - rerendered 2 files. Then realized that I could use the "set file" command in DVDA and that worked just fine too. So, the file was OK, I guess the 'set file' screen somehow offers greater compatibilty than the "search for media screen" that shows up when DVDA can't find the requisite file.

All OK now!

Taking a stab in the dark here, but are you going to File > Open...? That's not for opening / adding media files to your project. That menu option is strictly for opening a DVD Architect Studio project file.

To add files to your project, either drag them in from the Explorer or use the Insert menu.

If my "stab" is incorrect, feel free to ignore me. ;-)

No. Essentially my DVDA project was looking for offline media. I would navigate the dialog window to the proper mpg file, but it didn't seem to recognize it. Only recognized 1/4 (all had been rendered in VMSPP) However, using "set file", DVDA did recognize all files.
