VMS10 vs VPro9e interesting experience performance

Turning to any ideas on this.

I have Vegas 9e and Vegas Movie Studio 10 both installed on my test rig (xp 32 bit...see the specs).

If I load media (mp4/h.264 or mpg2) cuts about 70% of the time Vegas Pro will lock up requiring a task manager end of program.

I could go into more details, but what's interesting is that if I load the exact same media into Vegas Moive Studio 10 and do the same sequence of events, it doesn't lock up or have any of the same symptoms.

So, my question is: Could this simply due to Vegas Pro using more resources as compared to Vegas Movie Studio 10?

or perhaps an even more tantalizing question...........

Could VMS 10 have improved code or better resource handling, which may come along with a newer version of Vegas Pro ?

Thanks,

Mike

Well, that is an interesting question. In the past, Sony reps have stated that the core "engine" in Studio and vegas where the same, but with different configuration parameters....... which is could be very true from the design stand point. BUT a conversion from a Sony corp mid level individual is not the same ( in meaning) as from a SCS project manager of Vegas. So, it appears to be similar in operation...... many of the filters are identical......... but it would be nice if SCS could be fore coming of this issue.

Interesting - wonder if installing VMS10 would enable the Cuda rendering assistance on Vegas Pro?
