VMS16 Suite, 3 questions

OzzyRadar wrote on 8/20/2019, 3:53 AM

Have 2 questions:

1/ When I go to do some tasks, in Vegas Movie Studio Suite 16 (and also DVD Architect), it comes up with a message that I am not logged into computer with administrator privileges. Yet I am logged in as admin. Both programs are latest updates. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

2/ I have set Sound Forge Audio Studio 13 as audio editor in VMS preferences. When I edit in Sound Forge Audio Studio, how do i get the edited piece of audio to replace the section of audio in Vegas Movie Studio? I have several MTS files joined together on the Vegas timeline and it is only one of them which i wish to edit the audio, not the whole audio timeline.

3/ In Vegas Movie Studio, on one of the audio sections as mentioned in 2/ above has drop outs in the left channel. How do I copy the right channel in that section to the overwrite/replace the left channel. Both channels are recorded same audio but are in stereo. It is only the one section that i wish to do this. Or do i edit that section in Sound Forge Audio Studio, in which case the answer to question 2 would apply.

Setup: Windows 10 Pro v1903, Vegas Movie Studio 16 Suite Build 142, DVD Architect Build 100, Sound Forge Audio Studio 13

You have to select only that audiofile you want to edit and rightclick, choose 2 for editting in SF and 3 for channel options

Correction to j-v's answer, Ozzy you should use "open copy in AE " and not the upper one.

*It's just one of those VMS annoyances where the short-cut is misplaced.

Thanks, I will try out that tomorrow and feedback if it works for me.

I had been using "open", and not "open copy with"

The channel options i could not get anything to work, if i combined it made the stereo track into a mono, and if i did swap it just swapped the channels around. Only have options of Both, Left Only, Right Only, Combine, or Swap. The screengrab shows the section i want to fix, where the upper channel has volume drop problems and the lower channel is okay, so i want to copy the lower channel to the upper channel so both are the same.

Set it to right only, it will be mono but on both sides.
