VMS17 video stabilization 'freeze motion' mode

VMS17 platinum, build 143, trial version.

The Vegas Video Stabilization appears to have an additional option than VMS16. Beside 'smooth motion' there is 'freeze motion'. The help does not explain this option. I assume it is intended specifically for handheld static shots (like Davinci Resolve's 'lock camera'). But so far I don't seem to get any decent results with this new mode.

Indeed the "freeze motion" option is specifically for handheld static shots to eliminate every camera movement. So don't use it for stabilizing panning shots. When you analyze the movement in default mode = "smooth motion", you will probably have to redo the analyze when switching to "freeze motion". Better to create a preset with "freeze motion" setting and choose this preset before starting analyzing a handheld static shot.
