VOB files - Ulead DVD Workshop

OK.
I have a vegas project, about 50 minutes long.

I want to burn it to DVD (via ulead DVD workshop)
Now (from past discusions), in order for me to get continous chapters - i have to create one big mpeg - then go into DVD WS and set the chapter points?

Easy enough - but what if the mpeg i render is over the 4gig limit on my win98 system? How does vegas handle this? does it create an additional file for the data that goes over 4gigs? I'm thinking i won't be able to get continous chapters on my DVD if i have to feed it two seperate MPEG files?

Also, when i feed a mpeg to DVD WS, how does DVD WS create the VOB files?
Will it take a big 4gig mpeg file and chop it down to smaller size vobs automatically (in accordance with 1 gig spec)?

I haven't been able to experiment with any of this cuz i'm under a deadline and can't wait for 50 minute mpegs to render on my system.

Help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!

For 50 minutes, you shouldn't have a problem - it should be under 4GB anyway. As to the real answer of your questions, I don't know. Until you upgrade to NTFS, you may have to make sure your renders are all under 4GB.

well... i'll address part of this for you. i also use dvd workshop. the real answer for you would be to get away from windows '98. if you go to ME or 2000/XP you can create NTFS partitions that will allow files sizes only dictated by the size of your hard drive. then, you can do what you originally said. just go into dvdws and set the chapters.

hope this helps.

WinME will NOT use NTFS! ONLY FAT32.

If your MPEG is much over 4Gb, it won't fit on the DVD, once you've added the audio and all the other paraphernalia!

Better crank that bitrate down :)
