When I render an audio project that has just a few tracks (3 or 4), I get volume spikes where two separate tracks overlap in short areas or where there is a crossfade on the same track.  It's as if the volumes were summing at those points instead of mixing.  When I render a project with a larger number of tracks I don't get that phenomenon.  Does anyone have an explanation or a solution.  I get around it now by lowering the master buss output to a safe level and then adjusting the volume peaks in Sound Forge.  I use Vegas 4.0 by the way.
