I imagine that anyone using the XDCAM-EX1 is aware of a hood with loupe that has become available and that it has been well reviewed by Phillip Bloom: http://philipbloom.co.uk/blog/EX1 hood plus loupe[/link]

Such a good review that the developer and manufacturer (one of our friends here) is having to work through nights to make enough!

I love the idea. I know at one time there were rumors that Hoodman was going to come out with one. I personally would like the wider cup similar to the EX3. I think you had one on the one you made didn't you Serena? Still congrats on the high praise from Philip and it's defiantly worthy of consideration. Thanks for the heads up.

Ray, yes I used the eyecup from my FX1 and others have used that from the EX1 EVF (since they didn't expect to need the EVF any more). The problem that Mike had to over come was the cost of those eye cups and his sock-loupe© is very good alternative. In effect it is a very large and soft eye cup that conforms to the face without pressure.

How about the Z1 LCD-VF? Anyone identified a good Hoodman for that one?

The Hood-Pro should suit.

I tried Mike's latest Hood Pro on a Z1 today. Fits perfectly.
The latest version has longer elastic and stronger Velcro.
