Thanks, John Meyer, and others who have contributed their insight. We have identified the cause of the issue and it will be resolved in the near future.

I for one, want to compliment SCS for their recent upswing in "acknowledged" participation in this forum and their commitment to improving the product. It is not always obvious to us that it is happening but it is.

Everyone here was clamoring for GPU acceleration and they delivered it. What that does is make the product much more sensitive to specific hardware and the driver.

It is a miracle that windows works as well as it does - it is a triumph of standardization of HW interfaces and APIs. Apple has a closed system and it still crashes.

Paddy, thank you for the acknowledgement. IT isn't my first "calling". Making my way through tortuous testing is made better by your acknowledgment of my attempts. And also thanks to John for his persitance in his application of his deep understanding of things IT.

I look forward to the improvements.

Best regards

Graham "Grazie" Bernard

Just got word from SCS that this issue is resolved in the latest update just released. I tested and the smart render is now working correctly.

I'm glad someone else has had the balls to say that Rocky. I've worked in many print companies with large Graphic design depts that used MACs exclusively. There were ALWAY problems with the systems being 'down' or a program 'hanging' with a large file or whatever. Macs are no better than PCs for reliability. Maybe they were at first, but once XP was released they lost that lead.

With Vegas Pro 11 build 595 (current release) I was able to print to tape a file rendered by the same build. However, with build 595 I could not print to tape a file created by build 521. Vegas gave the same file error message. This supports John's finding regarding the problem was with the rendered file not print to tape.

I went back to my previous project completed in build 521 and rendered it again in 595 so there wouldn't be any potential issues in the future with this file. Print to tape worked as should.
