VP 13 Mpeg2 rendering error

Peter100 wrote on 6/9/2014, 5:28 PM
Hi!
I have problem with rendering in Vegas Pro 13. We render to MainConcept Mpeg2 and after many triesI am not able to finish rendering.
VP 13 still crashes in various points of timeline. In VP 12 the same project has been rendering correctly.
But after installing VP13, finishing the rendering also is not possible in VP 12 (also crashes).

Please find attached project file and error details.
Does anyone know what may the cause of the problem and how to solve it?
I have also asked this question to SCS support, but traditionally, there is no reply.

Best regards,
Piotr

I see you're using an NVidia 570 as am I.

Unfortunately it seems that GPU rendering on the 570 is pretty broken on VP13.

I've got a GT740 and when I look at the detailed crash report it's a bug within the nvidia DLL.
I can also report that since I've installed Vegas 13 even Vegas 12 won't work properly any longer.
The only render output which does it without a crash is quicktime which is annoyingly slow but at least it works.

What driver are you using? Before I changed to R9 290 I used driver 334.89 with my GTX580 in VP12 and I had no issues; VP13 was not available at that time.

When SCS answers they are likely to advise you to update to Vegas Pro 13, Build 453.

It might be useful if you provide info on your project and render settings. Also source material and formats being used. AFAIK MPEG-2 renders don't provide any options for GPU assist other than effects processing. I presume that you have tried simply turning GPU off in Video preferences. Have you tried rendering the same project using other formats such as Sony AVC? If all else fails, you could try frameserving the project to an external encoder such as Handbrake or TMPGEnc's Mastering Works.
