VP 18-19. No support GTX 970?

pierre-k wrote on 10/1/2021, 6:20 AM

Hi. I've written it here before.

I thought it was a Windows installation, but the problem will be elsewhere. This week I installed the clean latest version of win10 and I still don't have the active GTX970 in the I / O tab and not even in the Magix AVC and HEVC rendering tab

If I change the value of SO4 to 4 in the internal tab, then the GTX970 is active during playback, but it is still not displayed in the I / O tab or in the rendering tab. It is active only in the Video tab I tried different drivers, new, old and completely old. Without any results. The last version, where everything worked without problems, was Vegas 17 Reset Shift + CTRL is ineffective.

Some ideas?

VP 18/19 states it supports GTX 9XX with 4GB+ of ram so your card should be supported.https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/specifications/

Why it's not showing up for encoding or decoding is a good question.

I have a 970 on one of my personal machines at home and I do see this as well. We will investigate.

Now I turn away from the topic

I also didn't see the Colorize and Stylizer AI plugins earlier with the older version of Win10 in Vegas 18 and 19, but with the new clean installation of Win, this has been resolved. The problem with GTX970 persists.

Please check your driver version number. I have updated to 472.12 and the problem seems to go away. Some problematic driver versions were released which, apparently, we have blacklisted.

Wait. I'll try it right away.

Unfortunately. The problem still persists.

The GTX970 goes some 7 years back to its launch - but it is a GPU which does meet the minimum HD specs for Vegas Pro 18/19 as mentioned above. With that in mind, it would be helpful if you could advise the other specs for your computer in order to check that those specs also meet the minimum HD specs for VP 18/19.

FWIW i just installed V19 on an old laptop (i5 7200U 8GB) with a Nvidia GTX 950m with 2GB - and Vegas utilizes that old thing well after I installed the proposed driver 472.12.

Hi. Did you find out where the error is?

What does it utilize exactly?

This thread is about the Nvidia GPU decoder not appearing in FILE IO, Can you confirm your Nvidia GPU does show? @ritsmer

In version 458 I still can't see my card.

I'd file a support request. Seems specific to your system.
