VP 19 crash with FiLMiC LUTs (Unmanaged Exception)

Photo_G wrote on 8/27/2021, 4:18 PM

When I add a FiLMiC LUT (e.g., FiLMiC_deLog_V3.CUBE) as an Input (Camera) LUT in the Color Grading panel, VEGAS Pro 19 build 341 crashes with 'Unmanaged Exception (0xe0434352)'.

The built-in Camera LUT's work fine though and I can also use the FiLMiC LUT's in both v16 build 424 and v19 build 341, via the LUT Filter plug-in without crashing.

Has anyone else seen this behavior or know how to fix/work around it?

I raised the issue with FiLMiC.

No, haven't seen any LUT crashes in Vegas. What kind of LUT is it- do you know the size?

It seems to be a standard LUT (FiLMiC_deLog_V3.CUBE) and it's 6.75 MB is size. I use FiLMiC Pro on my iPhone, so they are the ones downloadable from here: https://www.filmicpro.com/products/luts/. I moved them to my VEGAS folder, in case there was a permissions problem, but the issue persists.

Yep, it happens on the Look LUTs panel too.

But the same FiLMiC_deLog_V3.CUBE as Fx added works normal

Thanks for confirming my findings! I'll raise this with support too and will post back whatever I hear from each company.

@Photo_G This will be fixed soon. The workarround for now is to rename the ending of the LUT file (*.CUBE -> *.cube).
