VP 9.0(a) H.264 Rendering has tag problems

Hi, everyone.

Summary:
When I render any H.264 video in 9.0 (with or without the 'a' update) in HD or SD, the resulting mp4 file has no tag information.

Detail:
I'm a longtime Vegas user, and recently upgraded from Vegas Pro 8 to Vegas Pro 9. I still have both installed. I have reproduced this problem on both Vegas Pro 9.0 32-bit (on Vista 32) and 9.0a 64bit (on Win 7 64bit). Using either the Main Concept AVC or Sony AVC rendering engines produces the same problem.

If I render from Vegas Pro 8, as I have done many times in the past, I can view AND edit ID4 tags with my tag editing tool of choice (softpointer Tag&Rename). If I render with Vegas Pro 9.0, Tag&Rename and AudioShell both report "Can not read file tag information", and I am unable to edit or create tags (no error...just nothing saves). It also shows 0 bytes for tag (metadata) information.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have any ideas? I went back to VP 8.0 (32bit) to render a test, and sure enough, it works fine. I'm thinking it must be a 9.0 bug, not a rendering engine problem, since both the Sony AVC and Main Concept AVC rendered files end up with the problem. I'm submitting this to Sony as well, but wanted to ask here to make sure I'm not alone on this.

Thanks...suggestions welcome.

Bill~

Would someone please take a few minutes and repro this so I know it's not just me? Render to mp4 (Sony AVC or Main Concept AVC) and try to change the title, the copyright, anything, on the resulting file. Use any tagging software you choose...I've tried several. There is something wrong with the file, like it's missing a metadata header section or something, and I'm sure you don't want to be delivering these un-taggable files to customers or using them for yourself.

I've tried on two different PCs, running 9.0 and 9.0a. Both don't work. 8.0c works fine.

Thanks.
