Not a do or die since I can still see the footage on my old Canon HV30's flip out screen, but it would be nice to see it in Vegas 10's Vidcap too. Don't really want to re-install everything if not necessary due to some custom settings. Any way to re-install - just -- Vidcap without messing everything else up?
Thanks for the legacy driver tip; I found this page for instructions on that and applied it. Due to that I'm in the midst of a render, I can't reboot the system until that's over to see and test the "(Legacy") version. As to camera settings, I haven't changed anything in there in eons, so probably not that. But we'll see once I've rebooted and do a test vidcap. If you don't hear from me, then it was the driver and it corrected the situation. :)
If that doesn't work for you, do you have access to Vegas 8? On both of my Win7/64 systems, I haven't been able to find a combination of Firewire boards or drivers that will work with VidCap in any version later than 8. Vegas 8 capture seems to work with about any configuration I've tried.
I don't doubt the problem is somewhere in my configuration, but I am able to use other capture programs with the current board/driver config (HDV split and capture to Adobe products) but only Vegas 8, nothing newer.
Try a 3rd party capture app. I can capture DV & HDV via firewire on my Win 8.1 system w/o any issue in Vegas 10e 64-bit (never tried capturing in 32-bit) but for HDV I normally use HDVSplit.
EDIT I can see my footage in Vegas DV + HDV capture but not in HDV Split, but I know it's capturing anyway.
Thanks for further input.Been way busy with other stuff, haven't had time to test the Legacy driver yet. I'll try to get back to you once that occurs. And as stated, I can still monitor the video capture on the camcorder's own LCD screen. So if I don't find a fix, just a minor nuisance.
