VP16 Motion Tracking and Text

Reyfox wrote on 9/3/2018, 3:44 PM

This is of much interest for me. I have VP15 Suite already. I see Motion Tracking as a new feature and touted as being "professional". Yet, I have not seen one video tutorial yet where text or image is motion tracked to an object.

Is this possible?

Yes, it it possible to track text (but not (yet???) an image/video) in VP16. You need to use latest build 261 which was released today and which offers a script to apply text to a track.

Would be nice to have a tutorial on this. 😀😀

Thank you for showing this! Is the text positional.. if you wanted it more to the left or right?

The script to add text to the track offers to use x/y-offsets. Also that added text is simply a Titles&Text Event added into a new track. So you could further offset the text in various ways.

Btw. — there is a nice tutorial for motion tracking with VP16 on vegascreativesoftware.com.

Someone can upload the script to download it. Thanks.

Perhaps Vegasaur's solution is more elegant than the script in Vegas.

"Someone can upload the script to download it. Thanks."

No need to upload. It's part of Vegas Pro 16 (B.261) and you'll find it in the Extras menu.

"Perhaps Vegasaur's solution is more elegant than the script in Vegas."

It works the same way, it copies the location data. I think both versions work like expected. What would a "more elegant" solution look like?
