VP16 MP3 renders to a file with no content

When I try to render an audio-only file to MP3 Audio 128Kbps. CD Quality Audio the resulting file is blank, meaning, it has no content. Yet I CAN render to a .wav file that I can, of course, convert to an MP3 but I shouldn't have to do that. Any suggestions?

In this particular case when you render – will there be a brand new file or do you replace an existing file?

New or replace - either way, the resulting file is blank.

Which build of Vegas Pro 16 do you use?

Build 424, which seems to be the latest as I see "no updates available at this time" when I check within the app.

This article gives and explanation and simple a registry fix that can help any application that tries to render MP3 files. I just tried it and Vegas (16 Pro) now correctly rendered an MP3 from a WAV source. For the last year i have been having issues. It seems that the issue may be rooted to Windows Updates.

The solution says to change 2 registry settings from  l3codeca.acm into l3codecp.acm.
Seems that it has worked for CyberLink customers as well!
