With me on laptop "Screencapture" and "Vegas Capture.exe" stay in memory when I remember the terms well that were hanging .
I saw it because the program slowed down and I have first deleted them out of the memory.
After a new try with some new options with also once the screencature, I tried to do a new fresh install of VP17. Uninstalling was not possible because those two items of Vegas were still active ( I think in memory because I had closed the program) and had to be stopped first by the Windows uninstaller.
That was for me a disappointment, because in the last updates of version 16 those nasty hangings were gone.
