VP19 Fails Playback After Render

hurricane1951 wrote on 5/13/2022, 5:29 AM

Since I installed VP19, I've had a problem playing a project after completing a render within the project. In other words, I preview my project, then render it. It doesn't matter whether it's the whole project or just a selection. After the render finishes, I can no longer preview within that session. I have to close out that project and reopen it. Here's the error I get when I try to play:

An error occurred while starting playback.
The request is not enabled for this device.

This always happens -- no exceptions. And it's only since I installed VP19. The error message doesn't give me anything to go on.

Anybody have a solution?

Search the forum for "The request is not enabled for this device" and you will find several threads which may help you locate the problem.

It seems the problem revolves around the audio device. It can be a driver issue or it can be the audio device type setting in Preferences. Mine was set to Microsoft Sound Mapper. When I changed it to the sound card I have, it fixed the problem.

Also try update the audio driver of your computer or your mainboard.

I had this issue too on my very-old PC.
