I haven't been able to find it in ten minutes of looking. I did find that I really like the Utilities Section of CGP, though.

I appreciate your effort but this useful feature is gone.

Edward Troxel @jetdv wrote a script for me, some time ago, to apply auto level/balance to selected events on the timeline with one click (without opening the CGP). This is the function I believe @BruceUSA is looking for. This script still works in VP23. So auto level/balance feature must still bepresent in VP23.

@BruceUSA The Color Curves effect has auto adjustments as does Brightness Contrast. I was thinking that I could use a LUT, but that doesn't work in the CGP in VP23. I think that has been reported already. The LUT fx in Video Effects works.

Yeah, I can see the "old" is better than the "new", and the practicality of it.

Add this to the list of feature removals that weren't documented anywhere...

  • Mocha VEGAS
  • Stereoscopic 3D
  • Legacy QuickTime encoding
  • Auto color curves

Has the VEGAS team always been under the radar about things like this? I returned to it after a decade earlier this year with 22 and migrating to 23 has been disheartening finding out slowly that more and more smaller features have quietly disappeared since 22.

Seems to me that only the button is missing, probably just a bug, the feature is still present and working (see my previous post about using this feature in batch in VP23 with a script without opening the CGP).

While there will always seem to be additions and removals from version to version.

I agree, Mocha Vegas, at least to me, is a big selling point. But there hasn't been much "outcry" in the forum about it. Stereo 3D, not so much either. QT encoding when QT has been "dead" on the PC because of Apple, well, there are many other options for encoding.

But again, the Auto Color Curves is something that maybe can be "added" later on.
