VP8 Online Help File?

When I attempt to access, it "locks" VP8 to crash.

Please confirm or deny? As nobody else has reported this it HAS to be me.

Vegas7 Help file working fine.

what happens if you open it up independantly of Vegas? It is in
%:\Program Files\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Help Files and called vegas80

Sami, thanks and pointing to intermittent result. Are you using a "European" install?

Now then, KM, interesting indeed. Yes it, OR more precisely,vegas80.chm, works outside of Vegas. It works fine. I can make use of it and searches and it wont crash. So it would appear that the use of it FROM WITHIN VP8 is the issue. What more does this tell me? Other than the file itself ain't corrupt? It is only when VP8 is loaded AND the Help file is accessed within VP8.

Next test: Loaded VP8 and load Help file separately from OUTSIDE of VP8

Result: It works.

Conclusion? - Loading and USING Helpfile from within VP8 - for me - crashes VP8. Could the "link" to the Help file be crook? Can't be, 'cos it fires-up. But once opened, any usage of the Help file gets me a non-responsive "message", and the usual need to Phone-Home.

Now, and not wanting to reinstall Vegas, what does a chap like myself do? It would be neat if there was another solution as this may point to a more realistic user-workable remedial solution. And no, this isn't cutting- or bleeding-edge stuff. However if we do find a solution then this would possibly provide another "fix" or repair that could be made use of in the future.

As I say, V7 online Help can be accessed from within V7.

And yes, I HAVE had Online Help working in VP8 prior to this.

Any further suggestions?
