VST and DirectX

Hello:

I have found a lot of good plugging that are DirectX and VST. Well I have never worked with plugging before that had to be copied or extracted to the VST folder or the DirectX folder (accordingly).

Can any of you guys please tell me where should I throw my DirectX Plugging and VST Plugging so Vegas can use them?

Also if you have any suggestions on plugging that you like please share them with us.

Thanks in Advance.

DirectX just installs as per the plug installer. You'll want to install VST plugs to a default VST folder; mine is on the root of my main drive. In Vegas Prefs, tell it to scan for VST folders, and point it to your default folder in particular. Vegas manages the rest of the process.
DirectX plugs can be for video or audio, VST is for audio only.
There are great VST plugs, there are poor VST plugs, just like anything else.

Some plugs, like Ozone, have both a DirectX and a VST. Is one preferred over the other?

It's really plugin dependent, IMO. Some plugs perform better as VST while others perform better as DX and vice versa.
