VST instruments in VMS

I'd like to add my own music using a VST instrument (Kompakt) to VMS projects. I know VMS can handle VST effects, but I'm guessing that it won't allow me to use the virtual instrument directly. Can anyone confirm that?

I normally use Cubase to record my music but it's on a different computer which makes integrating it with VMS a little tricky. Can anyone suggest a simple approach to recording the Kompakt player in VMS? I use the m-audio audiophile card and feel there must be a way to make an audio recording whilst previewing.

Take a look at Sony's Acid Xpress 7: its free version comes with 10 audio tracks. You can download it from this very website, under downloads<free downloads

I use Acid Music Studio 6.0 to do some of my music for VMS sound. You can also configure VMS to use Acid Express (in your case) as the audio editor and can then send audio tracks back and forth between Acid Express and VMS. Configure VMS in the Options->Preferences. Select the "Audio" tab and point to Acid Express for "preferred audio editor".

No, unfortunately I don't have anything done with Acid Music Studio online. The stuff I've done with it was for personal videos to our young grandsons who live in Chicago and are typically those videos are emailed to our son so nothing is online...sorry. I particularly like the piano roll feature of AMS and the fact that I've got some free VST effects installed. With the piano roll, you can open MIDI files and take advantage of all of the MIDI's that are online and free. There are some pretty sophisticated arrangements out there. And Acid Music Studio, like it's cousin VMS, is inexpensive.
