If you're using ProType Titler you'll find that you're unable to use many condensed and expanded fonts.
ProType Titler uses the Windows Presentation Foundation but there's no way of setting the FontStretch property (see Programming WPF). ProType Titler should be checking the family (FontFamily), weight (FontWeight - Light, Bold, Heavy etc.), slope (FontStyle - Normal, Italic, Oblique), and width (FontStretch - Condensed, Normal, Expanded etc.), and it should be checking to see what fonts are available in each family instead of, for example, listing ten weights regardless of whether such fonts exist or not.
I have the twenty fonts of Futura Std (the OpenType version) and of these, eight can't be used. Hopefully a way of setting the FontStretch will be added as a matter of urgency (or preferably a more intuitive way of selecting fonts - what we have at the moment is very definitely developer rather than user-centric).
If you don't need all the features of ProType Titler, you could use the old Text generator (you should find that your Condensed Extra Bold is available).
If this isn't the problem you're having, let me know which version of Vegas, which text generator, and which font format you're using, and I'll investigate if I have a moment.

Im using the old text generator because i noted the problems you outlined in the new one.
This is Vegas 8c.
I have these Futura True Type fonts installed: Futura Condensed Extra Bold, Futura Condensed Medium, Futura Medium and Futura Medium Italic. (all of these show up in other apps like Illustrator or Word)
If there's something Vegas is objecting to in the particular versions you have (they're definitely not anywhere in the list of fonts?), there's probably not much you can do other than try to find alternatives from another vendor (Microsoft's Font properties extension makes it easy to identify a font's source).
Hopefully someone else will have a better suggestion...
Thanks for the help...maybe its the version and Vegas not playing nice--as you said. Too bad I cant afford 500 for font right now...I still say its more of a Vegas bug though because other apps all work with my font....
JHendrix, I copied all 22 Futura fonts I had on my work computer (Futura Black, Bold, Book, Condensed, Extra Black, Condensed, Heavy, Light & Medium with several variations on most of them) and just installed them at home on Vegas 8.0c.
Only 9 of them (Futura , Black BT, BT, Condensed BT, LtBT, LtCnCT, MdBT, MdCnBT & XBlk BT) come up in the original titler.
