VV3 hangs when playing : odd behavior

First I wish to thank SF for doing such an intuitive tool as VV3.
That said, here's my problem. ;)

I had a slow all-purpose station to do some editing (P3 1GHz, 256 RAM,...),
and I've switched to a brand new audio-video dedicated station (Full desc.
below).

On the previous station, VV3 worked so fine, it's was a real pleasure.
But now, on my new station, I've got irrelevant behavior.

Mainly, VV3 hangs at playing edited movies.
Whatever the content of the project, even with only 1 video file.

Generally (but not always), it's playing ok for the first time,
I can rewind, forward, go to a locator on the fly without any problem.

But if I stop playing, then I start it again, VV3 freezes : it plays the
first frames, then chop the sound, then hangs. No popup, no blue screen, only
no playing and no possible action (mouse/keyboard). Yes, it freezes on the second
time I hit the play button !

When loading a project, I've no warning, I can even work, or render a movie,
load files, apply plugins or whatever. The only forbidden things are those play/stop
buttons !!!

Weird, isn't it?

I'd be so glad to have an answer that I could put you in the credits of
my next movie ;)

Thanks a lot !
