vv3 - separating video from audio

I rendered a video into avi, found out I needed to edit the video some more and wanted to edit the newly rendered file. I want to edit the video but keep the audio exactly the way it is. When I tried to split the video, it would also split the audio. If I tried to move the video, the audio would follow the video so that I couldn't insert text media without disturbing the audio... what can I do?

press the "u" key to move each independent of each other

also, if you want to regroup the events--or any other events
left click the video (or audio) then hold down the CTRL key and hi-light the events you want to regroup
then simply press the "G" key
GG told me that one last week
U is to ungroup
G is to Group
