VV3: Urgent Print-to-Tape Problem

I'm working from a media lab at a university. 10 workstations with Vegas 3.0c on the campus network. On any system, using any amount of video, when you try to print to tape, it gives this error first:

"Error occured while creating the media file Vegas Video Prerendered Video File 0001.W64 The reason for the error could not be determined."

It gives you the countdown screen, then after countdown it gives this error then stops:

"Error occured while creating the media file. A stream could not be opened because it was unrecognized or corrupt."

Prerendered files go to a fixed hard drive unique to each machine, not to a network place. That's initially what I thought it might be.

We are using JVC SR-VS30U Mini-DV/S-VHS decks. We also can't seem to get automatic device control when using the DV side of the deck. I know we can capture with device control.

Any help appreciated.

Where is the temporary files location pointing to and does that drive have any room? Could be a drive space issue preventing the W64 file from being created.

Look at all of the file locations under File - Properties and Options - Preferencs.

Everything (temp folder, recorded files folder, etc.) is set to the D drive, the 120 GB drives dedicated for media storage, and they're all 100 GB or more free.

The only thing I see in my properties or preferences areas that isn't steered to the D drive is the location of Sound Forge (on C obviously).

Any other ideas?
