VV3 & VV4 Co-Existence

I just received my "bagged" copy of V4 and came to this forum to see if I could install it & keep V3 running as well. My concern was with backward compatibillity, co-existance of v3/v4, as well as any other install issues.
(I've been side tracked by all the rendering error posts & even an acknowledgment of an Mpeg render bug by Sofo.)

I got V4 to beat the $150 deadline as well as to keep current, however I'm wondering about even installing it 'til things shake out.

Can the two versions co-exist so my current v3 projects are not affected by a V4 install?

Should it be a standard operating procedure not to open old v3 projects in v4 and just begin new ones?

Of course I want the best but I hate doing the same work twice !!

RJ,

I installed VV 3.0c and then V4 on the same machine with zero problems.

As you probably know, if you open and save a V 3 project in V 4, you can't open that version in V 3. V 3 projects not opened in V 4 are unchanged.

Other than that, there are no issues with having both versions on your machine that I"m aware of.

Yes they can co-exist. My partner for some reason prefers version 3 for making wmvs and Vegas Audio 2g for audio editing. His recently installed and registered V4 remains closed. Go figure. He is also still using SF5; the SF6 box was opened only to get the Noise Reduction CD.
