I actually called Sonic Foundry Academic support center about a month ago, their number is on the website. I explained I am a student (which I am) and was interested in getting Vegas, but would like to freelance on the side some of my work and wondered if this was a problem.

I was told that with Vegas, there are two license agreements. One is the purchase agreement that states that at the time of purchase, you are a student.

The other is the End User License agreement, which states how you are allowed to use the software. I was told the End User License Agreement for the standard and academic versions were identicle and there would be no problem to use the software commercially. This may not be the case, but the gentleman with which I spoke seemed knowledgable about the subject.

Will there likely be an Academic Vegas+DVD? Anyone?
