I have a 2 channel stereo wave file created by Cooledit 2000 from a dolby
surround encoded master. I am able to sucessfully render the file to a 2
channel AC-3 file, providing I don't chose the option to set the dolby
surround flag.
Setting the Dolby Surround flag results in a corrupt AC-3 file that WILL
BLOW YOUR RIGHT SPEAKER, if you try to play it back with the volume set to normal levels.
Has anyone been successful encoding a 2 channel AC-3 with the Dolby Surround
flag set?
Also, the AC-3 encoding in VV4 seems to be very fragile, sometimes it comes
up in DD 5.1 mode rather than DD 2.0 mode, seemingly at random, and
regardless of the project settings.
