Yes, you can render with the Vegas 4 beta without beeps or watermarks.

MP3, AC-3, MPEG are disabled due to licensing. They will be in the final version.

When the beta expires (Feb 20), the final will already be posted, and it will have a "demo" mode with the beeps & watermarks.

i cant import music. mp3s. i dont think there are watermarks. im surprised its all basically the same. also only few transitions and effects were added.

Ah, but the color-correction tools ROCK! . . . and the noise textures, and the new 3D transitions, and the bins, and the new simplified preview window, and , and ... I'm having fun discovering :) !

i cant figure out how to use the motion blur and the supersampling stuff. i viewed the video bus but theres no option for it. is it available in the beta?

Basically the same???? The interface is the same but the added power is substantial----color correction, 5.1 surround, media bins, duel preview screen, I can go on and on---
BillyBoy wrote on 1/16/2003, 9:48 PM
Wow, the color correction tool additions are super in version four and reason enough for the upgrade. All at once they are simpler allowing more accurate control from one place, yet if want far more adjustment you can do that too.

I have one complaint though. When is a knob twister like me suppose to sleep or eat? I only left the computer to go to washroom twice since I downloaded the beta hours ago and I waited as long as I could for that. Then the new scopes and, and and.

Geez, if SoFo sells this off they're crazy. I've only begun and already version four is LIGHT YEARS beyond anything else.

I'll be looking forward to your future VV4 tutorials, BillyBoy!

HUH??????
INput monitoring, waveform monitor, surround sound, color correction, LOTSA audio improvements, more video improvements than I want to type...
This mutha is LOADED!!!
Don't forget all the optimized plugins that allow Vegas to run faster.

Anyone try the spit screen on external monitor so you can see before and after as you apply filters? That's a nice addition to the toolbox. Nice to see a gain control too, much easier then using levels alone.
Paul_Holmes wrote on 1/16/2003, 10:27 PM
Yes, I've been experimenting with that tonight and learning a little bit about the color correction tools. What's neat is you can create a rectangle of any size and place it anywhere (top, bottom, left, right, middle) and compare your filters from a lot of different perspectives.

what's the advantages of dual bins (in the pool)? I 've never used media pool a lot ( in fact, never...) so that's probalby why I'm asking...
FuTz wrote on 1/16/2003, 10:55 PM
What are these plugins that make the system go faster?
BillyBoy wrote on 1/16/2003, 11:49 PM
That media bin folder is probably the result of several people requesting it. I have no use for a file sytem within a file system, but to each their own.

thanks billyboy... for a sec I thought I had missed something important. Several roads to go to Rome...
