Was going to buy a sony vx-2100 and read on another forum that the professional new model ofessentally the same camera (the PD-170) has had production halted by Sony till they can get a fix on the audio hiss problem that occurs with the LCD monitor being used during filming. Anyone have a VX-2100 with any of these problems?? Was going to put in my order with B&H till I saw this today. JOHN

I've seen that too. The PD150 and VX2000 from what I've heard were never very flash in the audio department. Switching the audio to manual you'd also think would be a sensible move but wrong. The noise floor comes way up when you do that. Apart from being able to shoot progressive the better audio is one thing attracting me to the DVX100. Mind you if audio is real important to your work I don't think any camera has stellar perfomance.

The other really nasty thing I've had PD150s do is simply drop audio for a few seconds when the SPL gets too high. Very, very bad.
