believe it or notm Try this mute the Waveout 1/2 in the M-Audio mixer
applet. That should do the trick.

Remeber that Delta WDM drivers are still in beta and that Vegas will
need to be updated to support WDM in a more elegant way.

Thanks for your response Dave,
if I mute Waveout 1/2 in the M-audio mixer, I cannot hear the
previous tracks, which is a problem. So, I suppose for the time
being, in order to hear the previous tracks, I either need to sit
tight (and not hear the tracks) or change operating systems...(to
like windows ME or something)... is this a fair summary?

that's funny I can hear the other tracks when I mute waveout. You
probably don't have the latest beta driver. Do you have the
10/26/2000 version?

you Can!? You probably aren't in Monitor/Mixer mode (in this mode the
computer's sound comes out of WavOut1/2, so by muting that, I mute
any chance at hearing my previous tracks). (BTW, I downloaded the
latest beta driver, same result...)

In the tutorial in setting up Vegas Pro w/Delta series equipment,
they instruct the user to use as many busses as there are channels
(for instance, the Delta 1010 have at least 10 busses). Then, after
you select a track for recording, you right click on the 'number'
referring to the bus to act as the input - it shows like delta 1010
wavout 1/2 and a bunch of other stuff... but when I do it on my
computer it just shows a list of Delta 1010 w/o any other specific
information...

I'm using almost this same setup: Delta 1010, Win2K, but with Vegas
Audio 2.0b, not the Vegas Pro that came with the Delta 1010. I never
installed Vegas Pro, I figured that the upgrade to Vegas Audio was
worth the $100 for the manual and the 3 XFX effects packages.

In my case, pretty much not a Win2K session goes by that doesn't end
with Win2K reporting a IRQ conflict. I've been through it, there was
one with the Delta 1010 and the USB, but I disable USB and the problem
can still be re created when I hammer on the machine.

I'll be working on it over the long weekend. Things work well for me
under Win98 (I'm triple boot).

Anyway:

1) Is anyone having luck with the terrific trio of Win2K, Delta 1010
(stnadard non-WDM drivers) and Vegas (In Jeff's case Vegas Pro, in my
case Vegas Audio 2.0b)?

2) Jeff: I'd recommend the upgrade to Vegas Audio. I like it, even
though I do feel like the descriptions of the audio functions in the
manual are overshadowed by the descriptions of the video functions.
The effects alone make it worth the price of admission. The $10 over
the price of the "download" version that gets you the manual also
seems like a no-brainer. I think the total cost was $105 with
shipping or something.

Having multiple audio programs is great because they all have
different strengths. I know of people who use Cakewalk for MIDI and
initial tracks then switch over to Vegas for its mixing environment
and then to Red Roaster (because Sonic Foundry killed CD Architect)
for mastering and burning to CD.

Lastly Vegas Audio is bound to have more mature and well-tested code
than Vegas Pro. It's the nature of the software industry. No
commercial interest in Sonic Foundry, just learning Vegas, so far I
like it.

3) I'm having a blast learning Vegas Audio and the XFX effects work
pretty well for me. I just wish I could get it to work under Win2K

hey there,

i have the delta 1010 and vegas as well, and I could never get the
beta WDm drivers to work either. It never recognized my card as a
full duplex interface card. Just a stereo card. I had to use the
drivers directly before the new wdm beta drivers.

Thanx all for the comments, I have, well, acheived a solution. I
dumped W2k (for the second time...drivers drivers drivers) and loaded
Windows ME, this worked beautifully. I believe the problem lies in
the delta driver (beta) which allows windows to only recognize it as
a single device, as opposed to separate devices for each input set
(WavIn 1/2 etc.....)... is this the fated WDM mixer thingy?
