The wait for Vegas Pro 8 has eight days to go! Ahhhh! So, what's the fastest way to get V8 in my hands and on my desktop? Buying it online? Can I get it shipped September 10th? Will it be in stores September 10th? My wallet burnith - although, from what I hear of the upgrade price - my wallet will burnith afterwardith too.

Also, DSE, will Absolute Training for Vegas 8 still be priced at $79 after Vegas Pro 8 has been released? It looks like Vegas has added a ton to learn, so I'd just like to see for myself before making the secondary purchase. I know yours is the one to get!

I always go with the download versions now. That's the fastest way.

this thread makes me feel like i'm on a myspace/college/teen forum with all the links in the post. :)

Hopefully now that they've shaft...er...eliminated non-internet registration methods you'll be able to download immediately & use even if you buy the boxed edition. Heck, they're moving the same way pc games are sold (and not many people love how it's moving to all net required) so they might as well adopt the positives too.

I prefer download... it's the only route I use. Why wait for shipping when you can have it about 20 minutes after you decide to buy! I bought V7 this way and had no problems at all.

...plus, you save on shipping charges if you're outside of USA.
The minus: you usually can't have the "extras" included with the software (libraries, loops, etc...) unless you buy the boxed version (thus pay for $hipping). Downer, since Sony's around the globe but won't ship this soft' from distribution centers worldwide.

I'm on download as well. For Denmark its takes some days with shipping anyway :(

And you (may) have to pay local taxes/duty. However, the extras were worth the shipping/duty when I bought v7 (boxed) from USA to UK.

But not a problems as if you order it from the US it comes from the US.
