Somehow, the how is unknown, the address bar in my Windows (not internet) explorer has disappeared. No more back buttons, no more address showing path of the files.
I've gone to Folders|View options, etc and tried to find a place to reset this. I've looked for a 'view system as web page' like Win2K and 98Se had. If XP has that option, I sure can't find it. So, when I go to "My Computer" or anywhere else internal, I've no more menu, task, or address bars. Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, or fixes?

You say the menu bar is gone too? I can turn on/off the address bar and "button" bar with the right-click context menu, but I can't get rid of the menu bar (or else there'd be nothing to right click!)...

How did you get to "tools->folder options" if you have no menu bar? (i assume that's what you meant by Folders|View options).

You can get to Folders, by Control Panel.

Right-click on the menu bar in any explorer window (where File, Edit, View, etc. are) and turn on "Address".

F11 brought them back. Not in correct order or placement, but they're back!
Thanks you guys!!

You have to love this forum. Who would have imagined that F11 would restore
the menu bar and addressbook? Is this one of Bill's secrets or was someone else
in the same predicament and started pushing every key in sight in desperation?

f11 in Vegas is one of my favorite keys -
it knocks everything off, and expands the timeline to fill the whole screen.
With two monitors (your preview on one, and everything else on the other), and 20 or 30 tracks of brilliance, this is a great way to "see it all".
