Want to record dedicated mono track

Some background info: using M-Audio Delta 1010 w/ 8 analog
Inputs and Outputs.

Whenever I record a single track in Vegas, it's a two
channel track.. What happens is I'll want to record say
input 1 and input 2 on seperate tracks.. but instead input
1 will become the left channel and input 2 will become the
right channel. This prevents me from editing the two tracks
seperately and is a real pain with drums when I have 8
different microphones coming in. What I want to do is
record input 1 on its own mono track, input 2 on its own
mono track, input 3... etc. etc. so I can edit every single
one of them seperately.

Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I really need an
answer on this to move forward on my project.

TIA,
Robert

No problem

make sure " use a custom bus routing" is selected in
preferences

when you arm the track you will see all your inputs listed.
Pick for example input 1 which could be m audio 1 and 2
stereo pair

now click on the input number just to the left of the
record ready button at the very bottom of the pop up menu,
you will see the options " stereo" " left" and " right "
just click on left for odd numbers right for even numbers

too bad the output assignment for vegas isnt this easy :(
