watermark playing clips in vegas from Canon c

Just bought a new Canon S65 digital stills camera, when i copy and paste any video clips to my desktop and open them with Sonys Vegas 6 to edit them they have a watermark on for a company called pegasus imaging ? how come this is there and how do
i remove it ? its not there when i play the clips back with Windows Media player!

Sounds like it's using the codec from Pegasus Imaging to display in Vegas. You would need to purchase the codec in order to remove the watermark. Either that or find another codec for Vegas to use. Many digital cameras us an MJPEG codec. Just do a search here for MJPEG and you should get many hits.

Pegasus Imaging's MPJPEG codec was probably installed when you set up the camera. Either register the codec with them or uninstall it and see if some other MJPEG codec will work with those clips.

With any codec, what you see / hear in an editor is often different from what you see in a player.

This mjpeg codec worked fine for me in vegas for the sort of source file you are dealing with:
