Wavering noise on recordings

I have a strange wavering hiss that makes my recordings sound like they are running through an old beat up tape deck!!! Any Ideas would help. I am running Acid Pro 2.0 on A dell with XP. Thanks so much...

What are you recording with? (hardware) and what sampling rate? At what input level? Could easily be a file with too little resolution that is at too low a sample rate. Specifics of equipment might help. ACID 2.? That was a long while ago.

120bpm through a mike that goes straight to sound card. I know Acid 2.0 is old. I would love a copy of 4 if you know anyone.

I think you are meant to BUY these things. I know Sony might seem like a giant multinational making more per year than the GDP of half the countries on the planet BUT actually they're not and they do PAY a lot of people who work for them.

Who said I didnt want to buy it? I meant if anyone knew of a newer addition if not four that they wanted to sell...Settle down on defending Sony...there are many other things to think about.
