Waveterminal 192X stutter in crossfade

I think a few people here said they were using one of the 192's. I recently got one and installed the latest drivers, 3.80. While playing back the timeline it will sometimes stutter through audio crossfades, and almost appear to get stuck there for a few seconds, looping over the same few frames several times before continuing.

I'm working on an hour+ project and it only seems to happen if I've been playing back for several minutes. I can usually fix it just by stopping and re-starting playback, but that's a nuisance I'd like to avoid if possible.

This happens whether I've set Vegas to use the Windows Classic Driver or Microsoft Sound Mapper. It sure was cool, though, to see Vegas add the little router button to the master bus so with a click I can be outputting either to my monitors or nearby TV.

I have a question about this card. how much inputs do you see in vegas, do you see virtual inputs that can be used to record soft synths and such ? thanks

The card has two physical balanced 1/4" inputs. Under the "recording device" list in Vegas I see five items, the three stereo outputs, SPDIF-AC3 and an "8-ch" option to use all simultaneously. These are exactly the same things that show up under "playback device," so I'm not sure of the point. My mono mic works fine regardless of what I select here. Perhaps I misunderstand its purpose.

As for recording soft synths, I don't have experience there but it sounds like what their "DirectWire" is meant to accomodate. Check it out. If you want me to try something for you, I can.

I guess using directwire I could record a microphone and route an ASIO output of a softsynth to a MME input and it would be recorded in vegas. If you see more inputs in vegas than the pysical inputs you have I guess it means it sees the virtual inputs.

Yes, my take on it is that you're able to treat as inputs what other applications might be using for outputs.

Wow thanks for the info.
Been dreaming of recording 4 mics and 2 softs synths on individual tracks (with the wami rack) guess it'll work !
