wax.dll?

I may have posted this in the wrong forum originally (here http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=6&MessageID=819312)

Here it is again:

I have an install of Vegas MS HD 11.0 (build 75) that was working fine until I tried installing NewBlue Essentials II, upon which I now receive the following error message when trying to open Vegas:

"Unable to load wax.dll. Please check your installation/reinst6all."

I have uninstalled both NewBlue and Vegas, and reinstalled Vegas only, but I continue to get this error message.

Suggest you either contact New Blue http://www.newbluefx.com/contact-us.html or consider the advice that I gave here (third post from last) which cured the OP's problem. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=819204&Replies=10
Another option that may work http://helpcomp.com/help/pc/f-Missing-DLL.php?keyword=dll&c1=p&c=12260274999&p=1t1

That is NOT a NewBlue plugin. Wax is a plugin found at www.debugmode.com/wax so you would need to find the proper removal instructions there.

I realize it's not a NewBlue plugin, it's just that installing NewBlue somehow broke it. As far as I can tell, the Wax plugins are part of the native installation of Vegas. They've always shown up in the FX box, and I certainly did not install them as a separate component. It seems as though Vegas is looking for something called wax.dll and trying to load it but cannot find it. In fact, a search of every sony program folder shows that files doesn't even exist on my pc. There is a WaxVegasPlugin.dll but not a Wax.dll. Why is it looking for a file that was not installed by the installation file?

And by the way, the http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ website is extremely long on reported issues and extremely short on responses. I'm not sure why I would be going there in any case since this is part of the native install of Vegas.

Wax is not a natively installed Vegas plugin. Never has been. If you don't plan on using it, why don't you just delete it or rename the extension and be done with it?

Wax is NOT a part of the standard Vegas install. At some point you had to install it from debugmode.com. Also, NewBlue installs would do NOTHING to affect anything related to Wax.

So two things here:
1. You installed WAX at some point
2. Wax is not working but it has nothing to do with installing any NewBlue plugins.

I'm not aware that any of the Debugmode plugins were ever designed to work directly in Vegas Movie Studio, only Vegas Pro.
