Way OT: 3D Video

There's a new 3D still camera from Fuji that uses two lenses to make 3D stills. But - it shoots video too.

Apparently you can view the images in 3D on the camera's LCD screen because it displays each view (left / right) in alternate video fields, at 60 fps.

The system is proprietary, but it made me wonder whether shooting with two video cameras spaced apart could then be displayed this way, the fields alternating.

Could Vegas do this?

Somewhere in the last week I ran across a note about eyeglasses that worked in a similar manner. They could be synchronized to a TV image so that alternate frames would appear in alternate eyes. That would make for a workable 3D system to e used by a twinlensed camera. It could be 60i or 48p and provide marvelous 3D on TV sets with little or no change in current technology. The glasses would be utilizing lcd technology acting like electronic shutters.
